Newport Speedway
From junkyard to sold out
- Challenge
- Newport Speedway, a 3/10-mile oval with 26-degree banking, had been dormant since its final race in November 2017. When new ownership acquired the property in 2024, crews had to remove hundreds of tons of scrap vehicles and metal from what had become a junkyard before racing could resume. The task was to restore East Tennessee’s confidence in the venue.
- What I did
- Directed the relaunch marketing and communications strategy and built a sponsorship program spanning multiple divisions.
- Result
- Sold-out events at a venue that had sat dormant for seven years.
